February 27, 272 — Roman emperor Constantine the Great is born.

February 27, 380 — It is issued by the co-emperors Theodosius I, Gratian, and Valentinian II, the Edict of Thessalonica, which formalizes Nicene Christianity in the Roman Empire. Contrary to tradition, the edict came before Theodosius was baptized by Bishop Acholius of Thessalonica.
